Connecting Military Learners at Remote Campus Sites to a Single, Synchronous Classroom

Through an innovative approach to Zoom technology, Park University brings face-to-face instruction to remote military learners. "Pirate Patch" courses allow remote sites to "patch" into the synchronous portion of a blended class, giving students the option of a face-to-face learning environment, regardless of location or enrollment. This presentation will address the technical development, implementation, and potential of this modality, the pedagogical and practical benefits to service members and educators, and its implications for other institutions.
