Abstract:
Established in the summer of 2011, Tidewater Community College's Center for Military and Veterans Education (CMVE) has over 50 staff working under the CMVE's Executive Director dedicated to increasing student success, providing quality consolidated student service, and broadening TCC's already extensive service to military-related students. Of the CMVE staff, 93% are a veteran or spouse of an active service member. Headquartered at TCC's Virginia Beach campus, the CMVE is a college-wide function providing counseling, advising, and student support services for military-related students, wherever they are located worldwide, who are seeking credit and non-credit certificate training programs and or traditional or technical associates degrees. For government organizations, companies, and industry, the CMVE serves as the point-of-contact for the education, training, and hiring of military-related students to meet their workforce needs.
