Abstract:
The Council of College and Military Educators (CCME) and the National Association of Institutions for Military Education Services (NAIMES) are the two major organizations committed to supporting the education of service members, veterans and their families. Members of CCME belong to the largest international organization dedicated to promoting, encouraging, and delivering quality education to service members and their families in all branches of the United States Armed Forces. Its membership includes military and civilian educators, post-secondary educational institutions, suppliers of quality education products and services, service members and veterans, and the government organizations that support military and veteran education. CCME continues to demonstrate its ability to engage its membership about the ever-changing landscape of military education. NAIMES is a member-driven organization which advocates for the military student and partners with the military education community for the betterment of off-duty Voluntary Education programs. As a force for change and advocate for the military student, NAIMES will take positions that reflect the collective will of its membership. The presenters will provide a summary of these two organizations and lead a discussion in what they can collectively do to further their joint cause.
