Beki Miller is passionate about assisting veterans with their educational endeavors, while working in the military VOLED system for nine years and volunteering for multiple organizations. Beki's career began in 2007 at the University of Oklahoma as the military tuition assistance expert for the Advanced Programs department which offers graduate education at military installations all over the world. Following her work at Advanced Programs, Beki became the assistant director for University Outreach Registration and Records, the non-traditional component of the University of Oklahoma. Beki served on the Council of Military Education in the South (COMETS) executive board as the Treasurer-Elect (2011-2012), Treasurer (2012-2013, President-Elect (2013-2014), and President (2014-2015). She was also a member of the Western Association of Veterans Education Specialists (WAVES), and assisted in the creation of the OU Veterans Support Alliance (VSA) Green Zone training. In 2012 Beki received her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies and a Master of Arts in International Relations in 2014, both from the University of Oklahoma. She began working at the Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs in January 2016 as the Director of Education and Training. In this position, Beki advocates for student veterans in the state of Oklahoma, while working in collaboration with the Oklahoma State Regents and Oklahoma institutions and career techs. Beki's mission is to make sure that Oklahoma student veterans get what they need to be successful while in school or training.
