AMTC Sergeant Major

Sergeant Major Jimmy J. Diaz entered the active military service in March of 1996. He attended Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Upon graduation he was awarded the MOS 13F10, Fire Support Specialist.


Sergeant Major Diaz assignments include HHB 1-7 FA, 1ID, Schweinfurt, Germany; 2-11 FA, 25ID, Schofield, Hawaii; A Company, 2-8 Infantry, 4ID Fort Hood, Texas; Dallas BN Recruiting Command, Midland, Texas; 1BCT, 2ID, Camp Hovey, Korea; 21st CAV BDE, Fort Hood, Texas; 525th Expeditionary Military Intelligence BDE, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; 1SG, HHC 519 Military Intelligence Battalion, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; 1SG, NCO Academy, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Field Artillery Observer, Coach, Trainer (Wolf Team), National Training Center, Fort Irwin, California; 6-37 FAR BN, 2ID, Camp Casey, Korea; Division Fires Sergeant Major, 3ID, Fort Stewart, Georgia, and currently the Army Multi-Domain Targeting Center (AMTC) Sergeant Major, FCoE, Fort Sill, Oklahoma.


Sergeant Major Diaz has served duty as a Company Fire Support Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant, Detailed Recruiter, Brigade Targeting NCO, Brigade Fire Support NCO, Brigade OPS NCO, Brigade OPS Sergeant Major (Kosovo), Headquarters Company First Sergeant, NCO Academy 1SG, Firing Battery OC/T, Operations Sergeant Trainer, Battalion Operations Sergeant Major, Division Fires Sergeant Major, and Multi-Domain Targeting Sergeant Major.


Sergeant Major Diaz’s military education includes the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, (Class #69), Company Commander/1SG Course, Senior Leader Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Basic Leaders Course, Joint Operational Fires and Effects Course (JOFEC), Observer Control Course (NTC), Army Functional Fitness Course, Master Resilience Course, Battle Staff Course, Army Recruiting School, and the Joint Firepower Course. Sergeant Major Diaz holds an associate degree in General Studies, bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, and a master’s degree in Homeland Security.
