MELISSA ESCOBAR-PEREIRA

Melissa Escobar-Pereira is a Regional Director of Military Partnerships at Southern New Hampshire University. In this role, she works to build relationships with installations and military-aligned organizations to increase awareness and access to the educational opportunities available to the military community. She has been committed to serving and supporting service members, veterans, and their family members at SNHU for nearly 10 years where she started as a Military Academic Advisor before moving into her current role.
Prior to joining Southern New Hampshire University, Melissa served in the U.S. Army on active duty as a Public Affairs Specialist-Journalist. During her time in service, she deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom where several of her feature stories were published and she earned a Maj. Gen Keith L. Ware Communications award for her photography. Melissa left the military to support her husband’s military career and she has done so for the last 15 years.
She earned her Bachelor’s in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in Marketing from Southern New Hampshire University, her Graduate Certificate in Communications and Executive Leadership at Liberty University and is simultaneously completing a Master’s in Communications from SNHU and Master’s in Interdisciplinary Studies at Liberty University.
In addition to her “day job”, Melissa is a member of VFW Post 1 where she curates ad content and manages a Google Ads grant to help extend the reach and exposure of the post’s mission and initiatives. She helps run a group called “Military Minded” at her university to provide support, resources, and a sense of community to her fellow military affiliated employees. She currently resides in her home state of Colorado with her two children and her husband who is currently serving on active duty.
